The Challenge

The Challenge is a college-wide student competition with three achievable targets; bronze, silver, and gold. Developed by both students and staff, each aspect of The Challenge will focus on a number of themes to enable you to get the most out of your time at college, in a fun competition that is set to put you ahead of rest.

Why should you take part in The Challenge?

No matter what level you’re at, or what course you’ve decided to study at Marple Sixth Form, The Challenge is ready and waiting for you. We launched the competition in 2019 following student feedback from course representatives and since then have seen thousands of students flourish in their studies and outside of college. If you’re still asking yourself why you should take part, here’s what our students say;

Make new friends across the college

Compete against different courses and partner colleges

Boost your employment opportunities after college

Take part in activities and events you wouldn't usually

Gain work experience though local organisations

Make an impact on the local community

What themes will you be focusing on?

In order to fully measure your engagement and involvement within the student competition we’ve set a number of themes you can focus on in order to achieve Bronze, Silver or Gold status. Many of our gold achieving students have gone on to win national awards as well as being named Student of the Year at our annual College Awards. Here are the themes to take into account;

College Attendance

Target grades

Improving your digital skills skills, English and maths.

Volunteering, work experience and charity work

Enrichment activities and events

Extracurricular activities

(Taking part or even setting up new clubs and societies)

College & British values
