The WorldSkills UK National Finals 2024 proved to be another fantastic event, with venues across Greater Manchester playing host to the nation’s top young talent, including our own college group.
Six talented students from the Trafford and Stockport College Group represented us in the competition.
And, after an intense series of challenges, Erin Carpenter secured a bronze medal in the Beauty Therapy Practitioner category, while Adam Montgomery earned a Highly Commended award in the Foundation Skills Restaurant Service category.
These achievements are a testament to their hard work, skill, and determination.
Congratulations are also extended to our other exceptional finalists: Olivia Shore, Amy Louise Chisnall, Nathan Williams, and Mille Alderton.
Over the past six months and throughout the finals, all six of our finalists have demonstrated remarkable talent and dedication to their crafts.
Hosting the National Finals for a second consecutive year was an honour, and it required significant commitment and collaboration.
Special thanks go to:
· Our tutors and support colleagues, who worked tirelessly to inspire and motivate the students throughout their WorldSkills UK journey.
· The Hair and Beauty team, whose exceptional leadership of the Hair, Beauty, and Commercial Makeup competitions was a standout. The Enhance Building provided an excellent venue, and the live streaming via the CAVE was an inspired addition.
· The Health and Social Care team, for their brilliant hosting of the Health and Social Care competitions.
· The Aspire Restaurant, which showcased the very best of Hospitality and Catering in FE to external stakeholders, providing a warm and professional experience throughout the event.

As the National Finals move to South Wales next year, we look forward to supporting the next cohort of students as they aim to showcase their talents at WorldSkills UK 2025.
