Jason Gallagher, Trafford and Stockport College Group’s Apprenticeship Leader for Construction and Sustainability, has been named Construction Apprenticeship Champion of the Year.
This achievement, at the EPA Construction Apprenticeship Awards 2024, recognises Jason’s dedication to empowering young people and shaping the future of the construction industry.
Jason stepped into his role just over a year ago. With a background as a joiner and business owner, he brought hands-on expertise and a deep understanding of industry demands into education.
During his time leading the department, Jason has forged strong relationships with employers and created tailored curriculums that bridge the gap between education and real-world skills.
His approach resonates with young people seeking non-academic pathways to success and his methods ensure they have the tools and opportunities to thrive.
Speaking about the award, Jason said: “I was absolutely blown away to be nominated, but to win was just incredible.
“I would like to personally thank every member of the team for their support and guidance over the last 12 months.
“Without their help, this award would not have been possible. To this day, I’m still not sure who nominated me, but I am deeply grateful. Winning this award is a remarkable and humbling honour.”
“This award is a testament to our collective dedication to helping young people achieve their full potential and pursue their aspirations.”
Jason’s recognition highlights the vital role apprenticeship leaders play in inspiring the next generation and ensuring construction remains a dynamic, sustainable and inclusive field.
Congratulations to Jason Gallagher on this well-deserved accolade!
